Our Rachel knows how to have fun! Instead of a big party she decided to take Lizzy Kim and Molly Burnett ice skating. It was such a fun night and Rachel had some incredible stamina.
She fell down 57 times (yes, she counted), but she would not stop. She would have kept going all night and these funny girls were great.
We headed to Baskin Robins for some delicious ice cream.
The next night we headed to her choice of restaurant: Sizzler. The dessert bar was definitely the highlight.
Her cute school class made her this great frog card.
Her birthday landed on a Sunday this year so we had a simple, fun family party. She was pretty excited about this pocket knife she had been hoping for.
Nana gave her a neat kalidescope.
A scooter! And then lots of books.
She requested M&M brownies this year instead of normal cakes.
Some great things about Rachel at 9 are:
She loves to read. Pretty much anything: magazines, mysteries, picture books, etc. Her favorite right now is Ella Enchanted.
Her favorite movies are Newsies, Princess Bride, and Frozen.
Her favorite color is green.
She loves to run and play softball.
Her favorite catch phrase is, "let's do this thing!"
She is getting quite good at the piano and practices with less complaining.
If she could travel one place it would be China.
Her favorite animals are tigers.
Her favorite subject is science.
She doesn't like cleaning up very much.
Her favorite food is sausage.
She is such a funny, kind girl and we are so lucky to have her in our family!

Happy (belated) birthday to Rachel! I love that her favorite color is green, and used to be red. Gordon's favorite color is red, and used to be green. I don't know why I even shared that...
57 times is a lot of times to keep getting up. Now that's tenacity. Glad you had a great birthday. Love from Nana and Granddad.
