Cuuuute baby brother Ian!

This week has been all about adjusting to our expanding family. Ian is the best baby ever! He is eating and sleeping so well that Justin keeps feeling like we need to wake him up to make sure he's okay. Rachel is also being incredible with him. Every time she sees him she says, "cute baby brother Ian," in a super-sweet high-pitched voice. She loves to have him clasp her fingers and can't get enough of tickling his belly, helping with diapers (we're sure that this will change), and giving him kisses. Justin's mom has been wonderful and keeps making Bridget stay on the couch so that she can hopefully recover quickly. We are so excited to all be home now and are just enjoying a lot of family time.

Rachel adoring Ian at the hospital.

Since he sleeps so much, she gets really excited when he opens his eyes and looks at her. She says cute things like, "Ian loves me." We're pretty sure that these two are going to be great friends!
The hospital bed was major excitement for the whole family (however, the fun did wear off for Bridget after the first day). Here's Rachel's first time holding her little brother.
Cute Ian in his carseat for the first time. Even though he's a big kid, he still looks pretty tiny in this.

Rachel is working pretty hard to be a pirate when she grows up and here she is modeling one of Justin's shirts and showing off her pirate phrases (Aaargh, walk the plank and yo, ho, ho). She even knows part of the Pirates of the Caribbean song.
The other big change is we broke down and finally got Rachel a toddler bed. Even though Bridget was very nervous about lack of sleep, Rachel has surprised us all by only getting out of bed once the first night! When she wakes up in the morning she knocks on her door (she can open every other door in the house, but for some reason doesn't open hers) and says things like, "I'm stuck in here - Dad, get me out." She loves this bed and calls it her "princess bed".

Ian cuddling with Grandma.
No, Ian isn't quite this big normally, but he's so cute pushing up his cheeks on Grandma's shoulder!
