30 is Looking Good

So Justin officially reached the 3 decade mark this week. We had a great little party with family coming to visit. The kids put on a "play" reminding him of 30 of his great accomplishments and he got some great presents, delicious Indian take-out, Oreo cheesecake, and...

a graham cracker covered in frosting. Rachel really wanted to decorate our family on top of the cheesecake with frosting and when it was shot down a couple of times, she came up with the idea of making her own "cake" for dad. It was about a 1/2 inch high in frosting, but he ate the whole thing. What a great dad!

Ian's strange aversion to certain foods has thankfully passed within the last few weeks. We're thinking it's probably because his last tooth finally broke through, a mere 3 months after the last ones. He will now again eat cheese, yogurt, and oranges. However, forget about bananas unless they're blended up in his morning smoothie. Oh well, he probably gets it honestly from his dad's extreme aversion to this fruit.

Rachel and Ian have been really sweet to play games together lately. Here they are being "scientists" together with their keyboard.

And, who knows why they had rubber ducks in their mouth, but they thought it was really funny.

Even though it has been pretty cold, we braved a trip to our little zoo. Ian was fascinated with the deer and the pronghorns. He just parked in front of the pronghorns to observe. Bridget was worried he would freeze to the spot so he was eventually moved with a mild fit.

The highlight, as usual, was feeding the ducks. It was amazing how the ducks were walking around on the ice since most of the pond had frozen over.

Rachel has been really into playing "family" lately. Sometimes she can even convince Ian to be her baby. Here she is singing him songs in his "crib".

Rachel's imagination amazes us most of the time. Here she is working out and of course, she needed her "headphones" for the full effect.

Rachel and Justin also made it to the first USU gymnastics meet of the season. They had a great time and the evening was only slightly tainted by Rachel's new nemesis Big Blue.

We've been slacking on picture-taking lately, but we also went to Farmington for Suzy's birthday festivities and had a great trip to the Anthropology Museum with our preschool.
