January Happenings

We are seriously behind in blogging, but here is a little January recap: Justin and Ian squeezed in a fun date downtown. The highlight for Ian was riding on Front Runner with his Dad. They also took the bus which was a close second. They headed to the Gateway and enjoyed the sights.

He even went on a small excursion to the moon (compliments of the Planetarium).
One Saturday we made it to the fun PBS Super Readers' Party at the State Fairgrounds. It was a busy morning, but everyone had fun. This year the Cat in the Hat was everywhere the kids loved the hats they got.
Here are the "big" kids finger painting a giant Cookie Monster,
hugging Curious George (which was Josie's highlight of the morning),
sidling up to random huge figures,
and snapping a shot with Sid.
We had some fun snacks and watched a great magician and some not-so-great belly dancers (the kids were entranced and not really in a good way).
They even had a fun cat ice sculpture.
Then we got a great visit from the St. George family. Rachel made herself and the boys some fun masks that they may or may not have been able to see out of.
We celebrated Alice's first birthday with this amazing Violet cake from Grandma.
Here was our fun birthday girl with Josie and Uncle Cory.
This cake is all for me?
She is such a sweet girl!
Josie was particularly excited about the delicious ice cream that the festivities were serving up.

It all sounds fun except the belly dancing part... I can't believe they would have belly dancers at a kids PBS activity!?!
