Kristen and Cory needed to go to her brother's wedding in Hawaii with her family and they needed someone to watch the kids for a week. Andy and Bridget were lucky enough to get to spend a week with them in beautiful Connecticut.
Here Andy goes on his first airplane ride and big trip!
It was a red eye flight leaving a midnight that was delayed an hour. This kid was in the best spirits even though he was exhausted. He was so excited he didn't fall asleep until 2 in the morning!
Before Cory and Kristen headed off Bridget met Brian and Sandy downtown. She loved seeing some of the beautiful sights. It was kind of surreal taking the train right to the beautiful Grand Central Station.
And it was fleet week in NYC! So there were many a sailor sightings which made Bridget's "On the Town" loving self pretty happy.
We headed to a new Broadway show "Present Laughter" starring Kevin Kline. The theater was beautiful and it was a well done production.
We had a delicious French dinner and enjoyed the beautiful weather.
Bridget geeked out in Times Square.
Then the week with the kids began. We spent a lot of time outside on walks and checking out their beautiful parks. These kids were so creative with the sticks on our first day. Ethan made quite the bow and arrow collection.
The next day was rainy so we did lots of crafts. Ethan sewed himself a quiver!
And Alice this cute purse.
We braved the damp parks and were usually some of the very few around. They were so much fun! Sawyer couldn't get enough of these binoculars.
The beach was 7 minutes away and even though it was cloudy we had to get Andy there for his first time. We were the only ones there! The big kids were in school, but these little boys could have played all day.
We might have a future lifeguard on our hands.
There was fort building quite a few days.
And lots more park going.
We had the chance to visit Brian and Sandy's beautiful home in Peekskill. Andy never wanted to leave! He loved all the toys, cats, and especially how sweet Brian and Sandy are to him.
Bridget was pretty impressive with Siri's navigational help and the big mishaps were when on the way back from dropping of parents at the airport she drove to the address in NY not Connecticut and hour out of the way. We were so tired and glad to get back to their home. The other was when she was holding Sawyer and throwing away trash and tossed the keys in with the trash! Andy was pretty excited to dumpster dive for her to get them out. We are classy like that.
These parks kind of blew our minds!
We loved seeing these fun kids and are excited to have them visit us in Utah in a few weeks!
