The End of Summer (weep, weep)

We're mourning the end of summer! It's just a little scary when summer ends here, because then people start talking about winter. And, we're definitely not prepared for that season yet. At least when we're shut up in our home in a few months, we'll have some cute kids to watch.
Ian is quite the mover and loves to be on his tummy.
For Labor Day, we went on a little hike through the "woods". Rachel encouraged us to do quite a few rousing verses of "Following the Leader" from Peter Pan. People probably thought that we were crazy.

Bridget had a very happy parenting moment this week when she asked Rachel to share a toy with Ian so he could look at something and Rachel proceeded to set up this "zoo" for him to view. She was so excited when he was looking at her work, it was really cute!

Yes, Justin is already training him to be a Twins fan.
We're trying to embrace fall and so we made little spider treats in preparation for Halloween (hopefully not a spider invasion!). Rachel was putting on this scared face during the preparation and consumption of her snack.
What can we say? We have a seriously goofy girl. This is her newest trick, which she thinks is hilarious. She can get out herself, but always wants us to come and look at her.
Ian is really good at locking his legs and here he is balancing on the couch (don't worry, close parental supervision was involved).
Here he is adoring his daddy. We took him to the doctor today for his 4 month check-up and he is doing really well. The doctor thinks he might have reflux because we've been having some eating issues, but other than that he is perfect. He's in the 92% for height (17 lbs, 3 oz), 89% for length, and 97% for head. As the doctor said, we're glad that he's relatively long and hefty, so that he doesn't look like a "pumpkin on a stick" with his sizeable head. What a cute baby!
