We seem to be on a slower blogging schedule these days. Part of it is because we get to see our family more often so there seems to be less need. But, we certainly still miss all of our MN friends! We've been up to a lot of normal life lately and had some sicknesses mixed in. Justin is still sporting a nice cast (this second one is blue) and we've heard the good news that he has been chosen for a teaching assistantship at USU. Other than that, we're enjoying springtime in Utah.
Ian loves Sadie (Grandma and Grandpa's standard poodle). Sadie is extremely patient with him and will let Ian climb over her and "pet" her back. Baby petting does not look soft, so we're kind of amazed Sadie wants to be in the same room as our busy boy.
There is no question that Rachel's best friend in Utah is Kassia (Brady's girl friend). She comes over once a week and plays with Rachel for hours. They pretend like they're fairies fluttering, build forts, and color together. Needless to say, Rachel has picked a great role-model because Kassia is not only very patient and kind, but an incredible tennis player (#1 in doubles in the intermountain region!). We were able to go and see her play for the first time and Rachel loved how "strong" her hero was on the court.
We also got a fun weekend visit from Nana and Grandad and they treated us to a trip to Hogle Zoo. Rachel loves her grandparents so much and after they had to go back home she wanted to send them an "envelope" telling them they could come anytime.
Here is a shot of Grandpa reading to Rachel on the deck. We're not quite sure why there was a badminton racket involved, but it definitely looks more exciting.
Rachel has a picture of Grover with gloves on his feet and shoes on his hands, so of course she had to replicate the fun.
The big event in our life was the addition of a new family member - Abigale the puppy. We had to stoop down to once again bribing Rachel to stay in her bed through the night and the result of a massive completed sticker chart was picking her own animal to make at the Build-A-Bear store. She wasn't quite sure about the stuffing part (she thought that the girl was putting a hole in her puppy's back), but she loved putting a special heart in her dog and doing all the other fun things at the store. Grandma loves stuffed animals and joined in the fun by making a cute Jazz bear to support the team.
Giving Abigale a bath was a huge highlight. But on the way home she let us know that it wasn't really a bath since the air came from above - Abigale had a shower.
After being in the store for over an hour trying to choose clothes, Rachel picked this little stroller instead. Now her puppy has a sweet ride and a very happy owner.
Cute Ian was so good the whole time just kind of hanging out. Grandma aptly described his experience as "build-a-bore." He was exhausted to say the least.

How fun! I cannot believe how much Rachel has grown since you guys left! Her hair is getting so long! And your kids are still as cute as ever! I'm glad things are going so well! Thanks for keeping up the blog for us :)
