Halloween is Around the Corner

This week has felt like it's all about preparing for the big events next week. But, a few weeks ago we went to check out the witches at Gardner Village with Rob and Suzy.
Ahhh! Check out that scary face. They have really fun craft witches all over the village, but this was certainly the one that made the biggest impression: a witch in an outhouse (you can kind of see the newspaper she's holding up). But, the thing that has stayed with us is the sign that said, "witchy-poo". Rachel still thinks it's hilarious and uses the phrase regularly. Classy, classy.

We even got to take a carriage ride with a great "witch" who taught us some great Halloween jokes and spells. Rachel was pretty hesitant to get in the carriage, but by the end of the trip she was spellbound.

Ian and Rachel have established a few fun, and relatively dangerous, games that they play together. Here is a picture of their chair-spinning ritual. They take turns sitting and spinning, and we're waiting for the fall out which luckily hasn't happened yet.

The other day we got a yummy treat from Rachel's primary teachers, and while Justin was getting Rachel ready for bed (Bridget wasn't being negligent, she was at orchestra), Ian came waltzing in with two big cookies...

Rachel and her friend Gordon have had a great time playing together and they were very proud of the "zoo" they created with all of the animals. They were "zookeepers" and even let Ian and Kate be their assistants.

This week we headed off to the North Logan Pumpkin Walk and had a great time with some fun friends. They had quite a few displays for the kids to look through. Ariel was a major winner with our girl.

The actual pumpkin walk part was filled with displays involving tons of uniquely painted pumpkins. Here are Rachel and Gordon in front of Noah's Ark with all the animals made out of the Halloween vegetable.

And of course, we couldn't prepare for Halloween without decorating kids, I mean pumpkins. Here they are working hard on their projects.
