Love is in the Air

We started Valentines week off with a bang by receiving this card from Uncle Brady. While this face is posed, she was really the most excited she has even been about getting a card in the mail. He'd put a cutout picture of himself by Dora and needless to say, we don't think this card will ever be removed from her cork board place of honor.

Ian is a ham as usual and never misses an opportunity to be silly. Here he is in his Justin's boots.

Valentines is such a fun little holiday in the middle of a very cold winter and so we took one afternoon to make some very packed cookies.

We swear they were having fun, even though this picture screams otherwise. Bridget was making them do a cheer or something and it seriously backfired into a crazy picture.

Whenever we tell Ian to look handsome, he pulls out the extra big smile.

Everyday both Rachel and Ian are dressed up at least once. Here they are being superheros and running around our home doing little super tasks. It is the best way ever to clean up a mess.

One day after we'd emptied the desk trash basket, we come back into the living room to this. The only down part is now he wants to dump out the trash to relive his glory.

We went to check on Ian before we went to sleep one night and found that he'd increased his ventilation.

For the long weekend, we headed down to Grandma's and Grandpa's. Games and fun abounded and the kids had a great time being with both of the cousins.

We were able to go to the Draper Temple Open House. It was beautiful and Rachel was particularly fascinated with the gorgeous lights. It was a great experience to be able to be there as a family and remember the blessings we can have because of temples.

There was a reception at the end of the tour and Ian had his mind on two things - running around and eating cookies.

Mission accomplished!

Yeah, he pretty much stuffed the whole thing in his mouth.

Ian also got his first official "big boy" haircut. Bridget has been chopping at the back for a while so he didn't get a baby mullet, but it was time to get out clippers. We were amazed by how well he listened to directions (look up, down...) and he looks great as a result of Justin's barber expertise.

We had a huge snowstorm while we were visiting and the cousins headed outside to enjoy the weather. Since Ethan lives in Arizona, he was amazed with the snow and he was so tough in the cold.

Aunt Kelli was so sweet to read to the kids. Rachel loves her aunts so much and she modified one of her favorite phrases "girls rule, boys drool" to "aunts rule, uncles drool." Sorry guys.

We even got Ethan over there for a second.

Cheese! It was a great trip and so much fun to see everyone.
