The Month of the Lephrechan

We welcomed in St. Patrick's month (we can celebrate a month of Irish things, right?) with one last visit with Bridget's grandma from Ireland before she goes back home. It is always so great to visit with her and hear her hilarious stories about Irish life and the way things used to be. We'll miss her and are very glad she could visit.

She thought some things in America were amazing - one of which being Costco. She couldn't get over the huge amounts of food and all of the fresh produce. She had to get a picture taken to document our bulk store for the family back home.

Bridget's parents have been keeping her very busy and here she is getting to hold a new arrival from a neighbor.

St. Patrick's Day really isn't a big holiday in Ireland, so she got a kick out of some of the classy decorations that are around.

Back in Logan, it has still been really cold so we haven't been able to go out much. But, when we do Ian's favorite walk is to check out the construction on campus. The bulldozers are absolutely mesmerizing to our little boy and he could probably watch for hours if we didn't insist on getting him inside so he could keep all his fingers and toes sans frostbite. Rachel has been quite the obliging big sister and she has grown attached the the big crane.

Last week our ward had an amazing "Book of Mormon Gala Event" to celebrate the finishing of our stake's goal to have each stake member read the Book of Mormon. They had tons of fun activities (glowing rocks like the Brother of Jared, making shields like the Stripling Warriors, and Rachel's favorite casting "stones" aka newspaper balls at Samuel the Lamanite on a big wall). It was topped off with great food and a musical program. Justin had a serious case of the flu, so it was a Rachel/Bridget date and she was such a good girl, even during the longer music program. She was so excited when we got home we couldn't get a cute picture, but here she is showing some of her stuff from the big night.

She then convinced us to let her take her own pictures and so she took one of her night's artwork and...

the infamous Miss Tiger.

For some reason, Ian loves to dump out the toys and sit in this little container. Whatever works, right?

One of Bridget's craft-gifted friends gave the instructions to making a "placemat bag" and so we gave it a try to make Rachel a little bag for her church things. It was a really easy project and the best part is it cost all of $3.00.

Ian is always trying to make us laugh, and even though this is a few months old it shows how serious he can be about his awesome "tricks" and jokes. In this short video he's saying, "I don't know" when he's hiding his toy.

Totally cool that your grandma lives in Ireland. I just found out last year that some of my ancestors came from Ireland. Oh, and we have that Tiger as well!
