Wrapping Up

We realized that this picture documenting a fun biking outfit slipped through the cracks. Luckily, the snow in the background has finally melted and we are officially enjoying a beautiful spring in Logan. This week we are busy packing and wrapping things up. We are really going to miss so many things about living here, but know that things are going to be eventful this summer.

And for some reason, one day they decided to have computer time standing in a packing box together.

Rachel insisted on this picture documenting her first ever "big girl braid" (one french braid) now that her hair is long and thick enough to have it stay in place.

On our last Saturday in town we decided to celebrate by going to the American West Heritage Center's Baby Animal Days. It was such a great morning and the kids were in absolute heaven. Luckily, it wasn't very crowded so they got to do their favorite things - like riding ponies and the train - a couple of times.

Ian really said cute things like, "ye haw!" and "clippity clop!" when he was riding. And both of the kids were cracking up at their ponies when they would sneeze or breath loudly.

Then it was off to see the animals. Ian was funny because when we got to the first calf he kept saying, "where's the baby?" We guess that a calf doesn't look so small when you are three feet tall.

They had fun piglets, goats, chicks, bunnies, and ducks to pet.

We took a little break to pan for gold...

and go on a nature walk (or try to get in the stream if you're Ian).

They loved the caboose of the little train and were pretending to be prisoners. We just hope that the fond memories created during this game doesn't translate into a future lifestyle choice.

Mostly Ian was in heaven checking out tractors and climbing fences. Nelson blood must be in this boy.

Since it had been so cold, Josie was a little amazed to be outside for so long at one time. She was really good, though, and even ventured onto the grass during our picnic.

We then checked out some more adorable animals.

It is such a fun place and we definitely recommend visiting if you come to town.

Other than that, today was Rachel's last day of preschool with Miss Theresa. She was a really fun teacher and Rachel loved going to school with her two best friends.

Rachel gave our family night lesson and was really cute because she came up with everything by herself. She drew a little world picture and talked about how we can get back to Heavenly Father and Jesus by doing good things (demonstrated by her new love, pink grapefruit Tic-Tacs). It was a good little lesson and a nice break from getting things ready to go.

On another note, Ian had his 3 year check-up today and is doing very well. His stats are: 33 lbs (71%), 37 1/2 in (59%), and 52 cm for head circumference (94%). There is a reason that we had to get a pretty large bike helmet this year for the boy. What a cutie!
