Beginnings

The internship is officially in full swing and things are going well for Justin in D.C. Justin is working for the Rules Committee and things have certainly been interesting - especially since his overall boss (Bennett) is now out of the election. Luckily, he is making some good contacts, so we'll just have to see where all of this goes. Here he is in front of the Capitol Building checking it out on his first weekend in town.

On his way from the Metro, Justin walks past the Supreme Court Building and the Library of Congress. The kids are fascinated with seeing pictures of these huge buildings and Ian keeps telling people that his Dad lives at the temple (to our 3-year-old all huge buildings are temples).

Even though Justin is far away, he is staying in our good books by sending some beautiful flowers for mother's day.

In Utah, we've kept busy by enjoying time with family, not enjoying some yucky colds and sad baby teething, and trying to figure out the crazy rainy then sunny weather. Here the "big" kids are trying to entertain cute Alice.

One day we made it up to the Treehouse Museum and had a fantastic time with some friends.

Rachel has been very meticulous about certain art projects lately and shocked us by spending almost twenty minutes tracing her name in fun medieval-style lettering.

We spent the most time in a fun section celebrating the upcoming Pioneer Day. Not surprisingly, Rachel went straight for the cowgirl hat with the tiara. They had a pretend cow that could be milked, eggs to collect, and a vegetable garden. It was a serious hit.

Ian took a ride on a bull and looked mighty natural in the process.

Even though she is having the hardest time getting her top teeth to come through (so far two of the four that are coming right now have broken through), she is the smiliest baby and seriously adorable. She is doing a great job eating finger foods now and our next step is trying to find a bottle that she will take in preparation for our upcoming trip. We are missing our Logan friends, but are trying to keep busy to make the summer go by more quickly. If anyone comes to the Salt Lake area we'd love to see you!
