After a late night of Settlers of Catan, Justin and his brothers went on a hike to see the waterfall. It was a hike we've done with our family, but this year the water has washed out a lot of the trail.

Bridget was able to meet up with some great friends from Minnesota days. Along with Joni, Jenny, and Cassi she stayed up ridiculously late catching up.

The next morning we were joined by Becca and Kathy for brunch. It was so great to see everyone and hopefully we'll see even more next year!

Rachel got in a patriotic mood with fun nails.

And Ian and Rachel decorated their bikes for the
Centerville children's parade.

Here they are
hanging out at the start with some fun friends. Thanks Paula for the pictures!

The parade ended with some delicious Pace bars...

and a girl squeezing herself between mailboxes. There were fireworks that night and the big kids loved them, but they were a little intense for our Josie. She kept saying "crash" and eventually went inside.

Josie found some of Rachel's dress up wings and and insisted on a bow in her luscious locks to top of the ensemble.

On the actual 4
th of July we headed to Grandma and Grandpa's for some water kickball (the bases were little pools and
homeplate was at the end of a slip and slide.

We had a great time!

Once the kids were tired water kickball became pretty competitive. For the record, Kassia,
Kanela, and Bridget beat the boys. Only a few small injuries occurred and they were well worth the enjoyment.

Justin gave some careful sparkler tutorials and then the kids had fun.

We ended the busy weekend with some delicious cookies from Grandma.

Yummy!

Thank you Grandma!

What fun 4th of July activities! I've been so preoccupied and anxious about this baby that we really didn't do anything to celebrate on Monday. We just hung out at home and my Dad and Zeke took the older 2 to see Cars 2... I love seeing all your fun summer pictures!
Love the decorated bikes. Too much fun.
