He got to start Cub Scouts and is delighted.
At his first pack meeting they had him help with the flag ceremony and he did a great job.
Then we had the main party with all of the Lee extended family. Since he's not a huge cake fan we did ice cones to sing.
Then we did the Amazing Race. Ian and Grandma were on a team in this heated competition.
It was such a fun day and we even lucked out with about an hour break in the rain showers. Josie and Rachel were the winners this year with the closest finish yet!
Ian's checkup stats were: 49.4 lbs (17%) and 49 in (27%).
Things we want to remember about Ian at 8 are:
He loves to laugh and make jokes and he has the funniest dance moves ever.
He is a great reader and is on book 44 of the Magic Tree House series.
He loves to have projects and reasons for doing things. He is the most analytical in our family.
He is kind and is very patient with Andy especially.
He loves to play board games (chess, Risk, Monopoly, etc).
He loves to hike and run.
He is not a huge fan of water, most fruit (he only loves pears and applesauce), and quite a few other things. But, he does take at least one bite of everything and tries to eat well.
His favorite primary song is the Family is of God.
His favorite movie is Spiderman.
He is a great kid and we are so glad he is in our family!
