Lately, it seems like everything around our home has a water theme. Rachel and Justin went on her first trip to the theater to see "A Year with Frog and Toad" at the Children's Theatre Company. She LOVED it and since the big event we've recounted the story many times and gotten a simplified book from the library. Needless to say, frogs and toads are very exciting!

But, mermaids will probably continue to hold a cherished place in our girl's heart for many years to come. She has this stylish pair of sweat pants that she insists on stretching both of her legs into one of the pant legs. This fashion choice transforms her into a mermaid. Despite the occupational hazards of falling down regularly, Rachel loves this game. Here she is turning Ian's
car seat into her sitting rock (like when Ariel lets the surf crash on her back over the rock).

The entryway to our home has become the "ocean". Here she is on another day (the pants have been washed...well, probably) convincing Justin to go for a swim.

And what better way to end a busy day of playing than with a nice, big, bowl of ... snow. Yes, she loves to eat snow and we've gone over all of the rules about what kinds are okay to eat (yellow is out). It's more healthy than her mom's
ice cream habit, right?

The other big development is Ian taking real baths. Before we'd had him in this baby reclining seat that he hated, but when we let him sit up
bath time becomes much more fun. When we have to take him out he keeps reaching for the tub trying to wriggle out of our arms. He's a very happy kid!

And, just so we can humiliate them later, we had to get the obligatory siblings-in-the-bath shot. In this picture, Rachel has given Ian her princess ducky and she's taken his pirate ducky. As if taking a bath with your sister wasn't
embarrassing enough! Poor kid.

So cute!! I love bath time and so does Sophie!
I don't know if you remember Heidi Shipp from Cedar City High School, but I just found her on blogspot. If you follow my friends link of Carrie and Joel to their friends, she is under Heidi and Jared. Just thought I would pass that along!!!! Happy water :)
