We decided to send 2007 out with a bang with a trip to one of our favorite places in the Twin Cities - Como Zoo and Conservatory. After we'd seriously bundled out kids up we had fun at the zoo's New Year's Eve party (they had fun displays and we saw them throw some huge balls to the polar bears from the roof). In this picture Rachel is showing off her icicle (icicle hunting is one of her major outdoor favorites this season).
Here we are in the conservatory. Despite the look on Rachel's face she was having a blast. This is her expression lately when she's pretending to be serious.
Our cute boy in front of one of the poinsettia trees.
The celebration continued with Justin setting up our tent in the living room. We had a mini-camp out and watched a show inside the tent. Rachel and Ian loved every minute of the new addition to the front room.
And, Justin and Bridget capped off the night with their crazy family tradition at the stroke of midnight. (Justin explains everything in this clip and you'll have to excuse the Blair-Witch-like camera shots!). We hope that everyone has a wonderful 2008!

Too cute! What a fun thing to do. My kids would die if we ever set up a tent in our front room!
And... running through the snow? are you guys crazy? haha... when do the kids get to join in that tradition??
Loved the video!!! Thanks for making me smile this morning!
Is life ever boring at your house? I love that you have fun with a tent and snow. It kind of makes me want to be more creative and crazy - but I think I will not mention your tradition to Paul (for fear that he might adopt it), my feet already suffer in that they are always cold.
