This past week we were able to go to the zoo with some of our new friends. Logan has a very fun little zoo that is just the right size for a morning outing. The peacocks were especially friendly, so we got a lot of pictures by them.
Here's Rachel with two of our cute upstairs neighbors. It turns out that their mom actually served with Justin in France - small world. Oh, and she's a great photographer - thanks for the pictures, Tera!
This peacock tried to come and eat Ian's cracker. It was fun to check it out so closely. Our happy boy at the zoo.
We then had a fun family 5k on Saturday where you could walk/run/bike to the finish line. Rachel did a great job with one full lap of the race (1/2 the distance). Here she is riding with another new friend who's teaching her tons of new things (His parents are engineers, so now Rachel talks about digging "powerlines" in the sand and seeing "contrails" behind airplanes. She's certainly not learning these things from her liberal arts parents.) The highlight of this race was getting to break the finish line (no, we didn't win, they pulled it across for each kid that crossed)! It was a really fun activity and nice to get out with everyone on a beautiful day.

I'm sorry we're corrupting your child. Not sorry enough to stop, though!
