Christmas Comes This Time Each Year (Think Beachboys)

So, we are fully in the swing of Christmas festivities and are happy to report that Justin finished his finals on Thursday and now has a much-deserved break. To see how excited we've been, check out our joyous celebrations.

We've been having a few Christmas parties and Rachel got to talk to the big man himself at the first one. Unlike past years, she was not shy to jump onto his lap and explain what she wanted.Ian, however, would have none of it. Why sit with that guy in red when you can frost your own cookies?

Here are the boys on the way home from a festive night.
We're pretty sure that Rachel couldn't be more excited about Christmas and one day when Bridget was working on a project, Rachel decided that she would make Ian a "tie" for when they are playing dress-up. This way he could dress-up to look like daddy. She is so excited to give it to him and she worked really hard sewing two parts together.
Then we were off to Christmas party number two with our ward. Here's part of our table as the other halves are off herding the younger siblings.

Ian was delighted to have a variety of cookies and candy to eat. His sugar intake was off of the charts and he was thrilled about every second.

They then had a nativity for the kids and Rachel got to be an angel with her friends Bailey and Isabella. They were adorable and very angelic.
Here is the whole crew after a very fun performance.
After the nativity, we had a second appearance by Mr. Claus. Ian was a little more interested, but still too wary to sit on his lap.
Then on Saturday we woke up to major snow and throughout the day we ended up with about 5 inches. For some reason, upon discovering the snow our children decided they needed less clothes on. Incomprehensible, we know.
This busy week wore our girl out and we discovered her like this one afternoon.
Snow!
We are nothing if not classy around our home and here is a small evidence of the tasteful tricks we've taught our boy. At least he's cute, right?
