Fall Happenings

Things have been going just about as "normal" as they usually do around here. One day Rachel decided that they needed to be camouflaged, so she pulled out the play makeup and these were the results. The best part was that they really thought they were blending into everything. They stood outside next to the path in the trees and thought they were hidden from kids walking by. They then blended into the couches to fool Grandma and Grandpa. They are oh so tricky.

The leaves in the backyard were beautiful this year so we decided to take a few pictures. Josie's expression in this oen is awesome. It looks like she's thinking, "what is Rachel doing now?"

Not quite sure why this is out of order, but we had Cory and Kristen's family visit for the weekend and before we all came down with the stomach flu (as in all five of our family members threw up at least once during during a 24 hour period), we had a fun day seeing them. Kristen made Rachel's weekend by giving her fun spiderweb fingernails. The next day her classmates thought they were "spooky".

We're always making stuff for girls around here, so it was about time for an Ian project. Bridget made him this quilt and he was so excited to pick out his own fabrics. Rachel was a big helper and helped lay out the squares. He has been delighted with the result and the great pocket idea (thanks Kristen!) has been a hit. The backside is a big section of the robots framed by denim. He has been so excited and loves having it finished.

When we were taking the quilt picture, Ian thought he needed one with his tray.

Josie is loving books more and more these days and Rachel is really good to read to her. There is pretty much nothing that warms Bridget's heart more than seeing her kids read to each other. This was pretty funny because even though Rachel was oblivious to the camera, Josie spotted it each time. Do we have a little model on our hands?

To celebrate Halloween we headed to the Centerville pumpkin walk and enjoyed the jack-o-lanterns, donuts, and apple cider.
