Fall Fun

Since it no longer feels like fall it's probably time to update what we did at the end of this much warmer season. One night we decided to head to the bowling alley and the kids had a great time. Between the shoes, ramp, and balls Ian and Rachel loved bowling. Josie loved trying to sneak away and walk down the lanes.

For a boy date, Ian and Justin headed to the Hill Air Force Base Museum and had a great time.

This one was the favorite of the day. Who can pass up an airplane with crazy teeth? Nobody, that's who.

Before the snow descended there were many afternoons spent playing in backyard leaves. It was a lot of Bridget raking, Ian doing his best to rake, Rachel doing her best to find ways to flatten the piles, and Josie toddling along thinking she is a big girl. Leaves are the best.

One of our former Logan neighbors probably predicted Ian's future a few years ago: trick rider. Bridget's poor photography skills could not capture his favorite trick where he builds up as much speed as he can on the long driveway and then coasts with his feet tucked up on the crossbar. He is a funny kid that we are hoping to keep in one piece.

Oh, our little Josie is into everything and anything these days. She can climb, open, and pull down to her heart's delight. One day we couldn't find her, but could hear happy noises. We finally located her under the bathroom sink with the doors closed playing with some bath blocks.

Ian has taken after his mother's heart by loving the color blue. His favorite animal? Blue jay. Favorite baseball team? the same. And his favorite pajama's? He has called these sweet bottoms his "blue jays" (instead of pj's). There is nothing comfier on a Sunday to come home and slip into this number.

We have come up with no verifiable explanation for this girl's antics. Perhaps Bridget ate too much lunch meat without heating it while pregnant - or the Minnesota temperatures changed her brain chemistry. We will never know. What we do know is that she is silly, silly, silly. Here she is in a swimsuit with her pants tucked in with self-made Rudolph accessories (antlers, nose, tale on her stomach). At least she makes us all laugh!
