Black Eyes and Haircuts

So, it wasn't on purpose, but this week the pictures are pretty much all Rachel. But, Ian has been busy too. He has been cutting his first molar and has been falling all over the place due to his extreme climbing abilities. Because of one climb, he got a pretty good shiner. Poor kid!

We had kind of rainy weather this week, so we decided to use one of the days inside to get Rachel's first "big girl" haircut. We ended cutting about 4 inches off and it's so cute - and makes her look so big! We went to an extremely fun kids' salon called Cookie Cutters. They got to choose a car to sit in, a movie, a sucker, and a balloon. She had a great time and loves being in the "short hair club" with her Aunt Kelli.

We also took Rachel to her first drive-in (where we wanted her to stay awake - we'd tried to take her as a baby a couple of times). We saw Kung-Fu Panda and she loved having tons of pillows and blankets in the back of our car. It was definitely a hit to also be able to wear your pajamas outside. To top off the fun, she even got her first ring-pop. It was pretty much toddler heaven.
Here is another fun outfit that Nana saved from when Bridget was a little girl. They are adorable pajamas from China and Rachel loves wearing them. And, she also loves being a ham.
This year we've been working on doing regular "daddy-daughter" and "mommy-daughter" dates. It's fun to just be one-on-one with Rachel and it's nice to be able to do activities that we can't really take Ian on yet. This week, Justin took Rachel on a hike and they had a great time going on the Bonneville Shoreline Trail. She is a tough little girl and hiked for almost 2 hours.
